Configure Outlook Client

Go Online with your ISP

Open the Outlook Client

Select Tools/Accounts on the Top Menu Bar

Select the Mail tab, Add, Mail as shown below

Enter Your Real Name

Enter your Internet E-mail Address

Enter your domain name as the Incoming (POP3) Server.

For the Outgoing (SMTP) Server, we recommend that you use your ISP's SMTP Server since this configuration works best.  Most ISP's offer an SMTP Server free with their dial-up service and all you need to do is call them to find out what that SMTP Server name is.

If your ISP does not offer an SMTP Server (like AOL), then you can use your domain name as the Outgoing (SMTP) Server.  But, when using your domain name as the SMTP server, you must always check for mail before being allowed to send mail (POP before SMTP).

Enter your mailbox name and password as shown below.  This is the same mailbox name and password you created in your site's control panel

Enter a 'Friendly Name' to identify this e-mail box

Select the appropriate Connection Type.  Most people choose 'Connect using my phone line,' this will bring you online when you select to run Outlook.

Click the 'OK' button to install this mailbox.

Click the 'OK' button to install this mailbox.

Receiving and Sending E-Mail

Select Tools/Send and Receive from the Top Menu Bar

You can also receive all of your mail for all mailbox names configured into Outlook by selecting Tools/Send with the correct configuration.

Timeout Problems when Receiving E-Mail

If you experience mail timeouts when trying to receive your mail, change the mail timeout settings as discussed below.

1.

Select Tools/Accounts from the Top Menu Bar

Select the correct mail account (Yourname) and Click on 'Properties'

Set the 'Server timeouts' to its maximum setting and select 'OK'
